Getting way behind on posting.
So yeah, here's some stuff from my digital painting class.

I set the painting of the stairs as my desktop background. I really like it. Now, did you have a picture and add stuff to it or is it all from scratch?
Like, the stairs, and a part of the canyon piece look really detailed and then everything around it is more abstract. This is most apparent in the canyon picture. That was why I was wondering, maybe the small part of the canyon was from a picture and you added the rest.
Either way, I really like it. It's like it forces you to focus on the detailed area while the "peripheral" is more abstract. I suppose that could've been intentional. But, for a really trippy effect, I prefer to focus on an abstract part and have the detailed part as peripheral. It's tripp to me at least because my brain isn't used to my peripheral vision being more in defined than the focal point.
My favorite quality of the canyon picture is that the well defined part of the pic, which the eye naturally is drawn to, is very off center. It gives the picture a very uneven feeling. Some snobs might say this is bad, but I think it adds a very subtle layer of emotion to the whole thing. I really dig it.
My favorite part of the stairs piece is the door. I don't know, I guess I'm drawn to the unknown. And my imagination can come up with all kinds of crazy things behind that doorway.
